Chapter 20 – Ezekiel

In the 7th year, 5th month, 10th day, some elders of Israel came to Ezekiel to inquire of the Lord. The word of the Lord then came to Ezekiel, and God told him that He would not allow them to inquire of Him. This was because the matter was no mystery; it should have been obvious, especially to the elders, that all these troubles had come upon the nation because of their rebellion and disobedience to God and His laws.

Chapter 16 – Ezekiel

God gave another message to Ezekiel, directed at the people of Jerusalem. In it, God spoke of how unfaithful Jerusalem had been, recounting the history of how He had cared for Israel, how no one cared for them until the Lord chose Israel and nurtured her. But then….

Chapter 13 – Ezekiel

A message from the Lord came to Ezekiel, commanding him to prophesy against the false prophets of Israel, those who were inventing their own visions and deceiving the people. They proclaimed that there was peace in Israel, or that peace would soon come, when in truth, it was not so. God’s judgment was approaching because of Israel’s rebellion…..

Chapter 12 – Ezekiel

God then instructed Ezekiel to pack up his belongings as though preparing for exile. During the day, while the people watched, he was to bring out his belongings as a visible sign. Then, in the evening, while they continued to watch, he was to go out as those going into exile. He was to dig through a wall in their sight and carry his possessions through it. At dusk, he was to lift them onto his shoulder and leave, covering his face so that he could not see the land….

Chapter 11 – Ezekiel

The Spirit of the Lord lifted Ezekiel and brought him to the east gateway of the Lord’s Temple, where he saw twenty-five prominent men of the city.
The Spirit revealed that these men were plotting evil and giving wicked counsel to the people. They deceived the city into a false sense of security, assuring the people that all was well when it was not. So God instructed Ezekiel to prophesy against them….

Chapter 5 – Ezekiel

God instructs Ezekiel to shave his beard and hair. Take scales to weigh and divide the hair. 1/3 of it shall be burned in fire in the midst of the city when the days of the siege are finished 1/3 he shall take and strike around it with a sword 1/3 to scatter in the wind.
