God’s judgment toward Israel was set. For many years they had followed the ways of idols instead of worshiping the one true God who had chosen them from among all nations to be His people—an example to the whole world. Yet the nation failed; they abandoned God, dishonored His commandments and statutes, and did not revere Him. Therefore, judgment was inevitable….

Chapter 5 – Ezekiel
God instructs Ezekiel to shave his beard and hair. Take scales to weigh and divide the hair. 1/3 of it shall be burned in fire in the midst of the city when the days of the siege are finished 1/3 he shall take and strike around it with a sword 1/3 to scatter in the wind.
Chapter 4 – Ezekiel
God also instructed Ezekiel to lie on his left side, Ezekiel was to bear the iniquity of the house of Israel. The number of days he lied on his side reflects the number of years the house of Israel will be held captive for their iniquity. 390 days on his left side for Israel and 40 days on his right side for the people of Judah.
Chapter 3 -Ezekiel
And God says to go to the house of Israel and speak my words to them. God was not sending him to an unfamiliar people with a hard language, he emphasised had that been the case they would have listened. But sending them to Israel who will not listen to Ezekiel because they will not listen to God.
Chapter 2 – Ezekiel
God sent Ezekiel to them regardless of whether they listened to him or not. God described Israel as a rebellious nation. But that they will know that a prophet had been among them.
