Ezekiel eats the scroll and its sweet as honey in his mouth.
And God says to go to the house of Israel and speak my words to them. God was not sending him to an unfamiliar people with a hard language, he emphasised had that been the case they would have listened. But sending them to Israel who will not listen to Ezekiel because they will not listen to God.
Then the Spirit lifted him up and he heard in a great thunderous voice; “Blessed is the glory of God from His place.” The Spirit lifted him up and he left away in bitterness. Then he came to the captives in Tel Abib and sat for 7 days in astonishment.
At the end of the 7 days the word of the Lord came to Ezekiel saying that he was a watchman for the house of Israel so hear the warning from Me and deliver it to the house of Israel.
When God speaks to the wicked and says you shall surely die and Ezekiel gives them no warning nor speak to the wicked to warn them of their wicked way, the wicked will die in their iniquity but his blood God will require at Ezekiel hand, But if he does warn them and they refuse to listen Ezekiel would have delivered his soul. Likewise if a righteous man turns from righteousness and commits iniquity because Ezekiel gave no warning that once righteous man will die in his iniquity and his righteousness will not be remembered but again his blood will be required at Ezekiel hand. But if Ezekiel gives the warning and he refuses to listen, Ezekiel will have delivered his soul.
After this the hand of God was upon Ezekiel and He told him to go out into the plain where He would talk with him. The glory of the Lord stood there like how Ezekiel had originally saw when he was at the River Chebar and Ezekiel fell on his face.
Then the Spirit set Ezekiel on his feet and told him to shut himself in his house where the people of Israel will bind him with ropes and God will make his tongue cling to the roof of his mouth so that he will be mute and not be the one to rebuke them because they house of Israel are rebellious. He that hears let them hear and those who refuse let them refuse.
