After seeing the vision Ezekiel fell on his face.
He heard the voice of One speaking saying Son of Man stand on your feet. And the Spirit entered him when God spoke to him.
God told him that he is sending him to the children of Israel. A rebellious nation, that has transgressed against God. Impudent and stubborn are they.
God sent Ezekiel to them regardless of whether they listened to him or not. God described Israel as a rebellious nation. But that they will know that a prophet had been among them.
God told Ezekiel not to be afraid of them or afraid of their words, or dismayed by their looks.
God warns Ezekiel to not be rebellious like the house of Israel. He was to be obedient to God. His told him to open his mouth and to eat what he gave him.
Ezekiel saw an outstretched hand and behold there was a scroll of a book. Then he spread it before me and written on the inside and the outside were lamentations and mourning and woe.
A highlight for me reading this chapter is the imagery and events in Ezekiel vision parallel what John sees in his vision in the book of revelation. Especially eating of a book and scroll.
